Imagining the Future of Intelligent Agents - ED 333B

The Project ...

This course was more or less a seminar course, in which guest speakers would lead class each week. Speakers came from all over the Silicon Valley, from companies and organizations that support the future of education in different ways. As we learned about different techniques for brainstorming and forecasting about the future of learning, the course culminated with a group project that examined the future of a specific technology in education.

The Solution ...

Working with two other members of my cohort, we decided to look at how intelligent agent technology would play a role in education in the future. We adopted some of the brainstorming techniques from class work, inlcuding plotting concepts on pairs of axes to understand where a particular solution fits into the landscape. We also used resources from the Knowledge Works Foundation to help visualize how intelligent agents will be drivers of change in our society.

In researching current work in the area of intelligent agents, we thought that many of the facts we were finding were particularly striking regarding the projections for technolgy growth. To present this to our class, we decided to create a short video to make those things easier to digest. We also included our brainstorming materials and formal writeup for the project on the same website.
