CS 377W was a course in creating effective web applications on Facebook and using metrics and user feedback to design and iterate on quick applications. The class was broken down into groups of three to work on two applications over the 10 week quarter - one focused on viral adoption and one focused on deep user engagement.
Our group chose to focus all of our efforts into one big application for this course, instead of creating two. We partnered with Kiva.org to create an application to expose a new group of users to Kiva. Our application allowed for Facebook users to view profiles of Kiva entrepreneurs and to "support" those they were interested in. Supporting in this case meant that a certain portion of a large donation pool would go to this entrepreneur and their profile would show who they have supported. Because we were not fully integrated with Kiva servers, however, this application is no longer working on Facebook.
