As a Learning, Design & Technology student at Stanford University and an intern at LeapFrog Inc., I conducted numerous hands-on projects on human-computer interaction and usability for mobile shopping list system, usability lab sessions of children interacting with LeapFrog product, interactive media production in education, websites development, curriculum design, understanding a better learning environment from cognitive and social aspects, qualitative research in learning collaboration through computer gaming and so forth (see “selected work”). I am interested in creating multimedia and using communication technologies for new forms of education and work-related activity to support learning.

My academic background consists of a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s in Information science. Before coming to Stanford, I received my master’s degree in Information Systems and Applications at Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. During my graduate years, I gained a great deal of research experience and attended several international conferences held in Europe, Beijing and Taiwan. I was privileged to have a paper accepted by the 6th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies (ICALT 2006) and orally presented the findings in Kerkrade, The Netherlands (see “Master’s thesis”).

I enjoy drama acting/directing and multimedia production including digital videos and music (see “Annie’s portfolio”). I attended nation-wide English speech and debate contests and won numerous prizes among them. I like to work with people and feel comfortable when facing the public.
