What is it?
Microsoft Excel is one of the most widely
used spreadsheet programs, allowing
users to enter formulas, create charts
and graphs, and design macros.
Where do I find it?
Microsoft Excel is part of the Microsoft
Office suite, often pre-installed on new
computers. Resources for teachers and
students are available at:

There are some terrific examples of the
use of Excel. An in-depth problem-based
math unit for Middle School Algebra and
general 8th grade math classes has been
developed by David Foster, mathematics
director for the Noyce Foundation. His
