Crazy Game Idea 2: The Traveler
Premise: Using lenses that see through rock, The Traveler discovers a vast alien network beneath his feet. Impersonate the aliens, explore their underground facility and get out.

Story: While exploring a new planet, you see enemies coming towards you from within the earth. After you defeat their attacks, you enter their discarded shells and tunnel underground into their world. You quickly master language and technology to navigate a labyrinth of platformer like hallways that lead to deep underground realms. The aliens discover you are no mere pest and set their tools against you. Play the last levels in a series of boss encounters constantly upgrading your costume until you reach the last level and escape towards your next adventure.
Features:
Explore a vast alien territory below ground. See beautiful vistas above ground and take photos of alien life for your travel log
Patterns in the rock earth reveal aliens before they see you. Plan your next move as you observe waves of enemies coming towards you.
Operate bigger machines as you explore different stages of the game. Machines allow you to drill through rock, climb to higher platforms, step over gulfs, fly through stalactite caves, shuttle through tunnels, skim across air bridges, and sled down slides.
Low violence game, no player death. Detection meter gauges the 'health' of your mission. Fail and you are shot back to the surface through a trash shoot.
Emphasis is on avoiding harm. Defense tactics protect The Traveler from attack. The Traveler never hurts children. Damaging childlike enemies, triggers post-traumatic nightmares.
Entire surface of the planet is the interface to see progress and completed stages. Lenses fitted to aircraft outline networks explored and those yet to conquer.
Why play this game: This game is for people who like to tour and enjoy tinkering with toys. The game emphasizes exploration with a focus on tunnelers and crafts which is different. It has kind of has a Jones, MacGyver, Cousteau feel that a loner personality might like with the kind of low gratuitous violence a woman might enjoy. It could offer a series of sequels about traveling.
