What is Learning Design?
For my ED229b assignment, I created a wearable manifesto. For Christmas, my mother bought me an all white sweatsuit. Succumbing to the inevitable, I got out my color markers and drew all over it. It wouldn't have stayed white anyway. In an hour or so, I etched out my definition of learning design. Learning Design is, "unlocking evolution." When you combine the definitions of design and learning you get a view that captilizes on improving people to impact the world. Design is responsive, adaptive, generative, aware, sensitive, flexible, open, fit, imaginative, in touch, grounded and creative. Learning is growth, change, problem solving, moving higher, making connections, increasing capacity, achievement, healing, improving the world, and freedom. Combine these two concepts together and you see that learning design is a human-centered approach equipping people to shape their world. Learning Design - Unlocking Evolution. Adapt. Succeed. Evolve.
