Blurring the lines between work and play

Over the last couple days I've observed people playing games at work. Whether it's card games or console games. I notice that my first reaction is curiousity about whether they are actually working. I wonder what stereotypes if any people have about play at work at a game company. Does it still feel a little taboo? At Shaba people work hard and then relax of cours.
