Why MMOGs work for Learning

What is an MMOG? Massively multiplayer online games allow large communities of game players to work together to solve a game. They work because they apply something called contstuctivist theory which is to say people learn better when they can discover or "construct" knowledge for themselves. MMOGs work because they activate many of the keys for constructivist learning socuch as active learning, social intraction, and problem solving. Jeanne Novak has done some work on why MMOGs work on her website www.jeannie.com (Nothing published on her site as of 2/5). Probably need a deeper review of constructivist theory to show that it's a better means of learning. For now it motivates more study of why MMOGs are good for learning.
