The Learning, Design & Technology program is a one-year MA degree program at the Stanford University School of Education. It ties together educational research and theory, user-centered design and creative uses of technology. Over the course of the year, I have helped develop an educational video game for the Wii, an iPhone app to help students receive medical care while travelling abroad, a graphic novel to raise awareness about a serious human rights infraction, an inexpensive and easy-to-produce SmartBoard that uses a Wiimote and an IR LED light pen, and designer trash cans that raise awareness about sustainable living. It's been a busy year.
