Need for an Interactive Media Product

The educational concepts taught by VizAbility are not understood by most educators. It is a common phenomenon that fifth graders figure out how to do the exercises before their teachers. They are more familiar with the technological tools and respect their importance. This is embarrassing and demoralizing for teachers, especially those who are not technologically inclined. VizAbility represents the tools needed to enter the digital age, and the students, who need and will use such a tool, are ready. In conventional educational settings, however, this learning goal is not being met.

There are books about visual thinking, but these cannot do justice to the role of multi-media in visual expression. In VizAbility, users create expressions of themselves through animation and sound in addition to sketches and text. These are components of multi-media self-expression that cannot be captured in a text-based medium.
