Feature Theoretical Justification
1. Including a list of guidelines for assessment would help the learner to target individualized exercises to work on and understand the nature of the learning that has occured. Theoretical perspectives on self-assessment focuses on the importance of meta-cognition to meaningful learning.
2. Including a 3-D drawing or sketching kit with VizAbility (or marketing VizAbility as part of a drawing package) would further encourage learners to take what they learn from the CD into their three-dimensional lives. The theoretical perspective informing this recommendation is drawn from cognitive theories of education which emphasize hands-on learning as essential to concept comprehension.
3. Listing the skills to be exercised as those apply to learning goals specific to various professions increases the probability of positive transfer. In recommending this feature, our choice was informed by theories of metacognition.
