Debbie Heimowitz- Creator/Founder:  Debbie is a graduate student at Stanford University in the Learning, Design & Technology Masters program in the School of Education. She worked in film and television, including NBC Primetime Development and the NBC Page Program; Disney Channel original series development through the Academy of Television Arts & Science Internship Program; MTV's Channel Surfing; Warner Bros. film Saving Shiloh; and Debbie produced the independent feature film The Sofa. Prior to working in Los Angeles, Debbie attended UC Berkeley where she was a seven-time recipient of the ArtsBridge America National Scholarship; a Steven Spielberg Theater Arts Fellowship Recipient; a Recipient of the Academy of Television Arts & Science Internship Award in Childrens Programming; a California State Arts Scholar in Film and Video; and volunteered with children in media literacy projects through Berkeleys Doing Good Well.
At Stanford, Debbie is involved in entrepreneurial educational technology start-ups including PET: Pediatric Educational Technology and EdTube: Bringing Video into the Classroom. Both of these start-ups were semi-finalists in the Stanford Bases Challenge Competitions. PET was also a semi-finalist in the 2007 USF Business Plan Competition. Debbie also interns at Apple Computer in product documentation and volunteers at Citizen Schools in Redwood City. She is extremely excited about the Cyber Bully Film Project.

Jason Azicri- Writer/Co-Director- Jason is a writer and director from Miami, Florida. He has penned five screenplays including The Sofa, was made into a full-length independent film last year and is currently being submitted to film festivals. Jason worked as a special needs PE and health teacher for three years and is currently pursuing his MFT and Masters in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. His goal is to bridge is two passions: film and psychology. He's really excited to work on Adina's Deck because he enjoys creating materials for children and wants to create social change through media.

Shelley Goldman-Stanford University Faculty Advisor: Shelley Goldman is an educational anthropologist specializing in increasing access to learning in both school and out-of-school settings. Goldman works at the intersections of educational technology, mathematics education, and best learning practices. Her research and development includes projects aimed at increasing access to school math through integrating technology, using media and digital video for student, teacher and parent learning, and preparing students to become educational digital media designers and developers. She is a professor at the Stanford University School of Education.

Piya Sorcar-Stanford University Program Advisor: is the Executive Director of XRI Inc., a California-based non-profit which specializes in rich media Internet-based medical and literacy related education as well as Interactive Teaching AIDS, an animation-based curriculum developed to teach HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention strategies. She is also the Program Advisor for Stanford University's Learning, Design & Technology Master's program. Her area of expertise include mobile technology, information and communication technology (ICT), health education and developing nations. She was previously an economic research analyst with Analysis Group and the Dance Director and Choreographer for Manick Sorcar Productions. Earlier in her career, she held positions with IBM and NBC 9News.

Ms. Sorcar graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she was a President's Leadership Scholar and the winner of the Chancellor's Award for most outstanding academic achievement in her graduating class. She simultaneously completed her B.A. in Economics, B.S. in Journalism and B.S. in Business Administration and also holds an M.A. in Education from Stanford University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences & Technology Design / International Comparative Education at Stanford University.

Mark Sochan-Business Mentor: Mark Sochan is President of Nuvonix, a consulting firm that specializes in OEM parterning and Technology Licensing Strategies. Prior to Nuvonix, Mr. Sochan held the position of Vice President of Business Development at SAP, where he was responsible for the NetWeaver partner programs and the SAP Developer Network. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Business Development for Seagate Software, where he managed the OEM and channel partner licensing activities, and led a team that licensed Crystal Reports to more than 150 companies. Mr. Sochan holds a B.A.Sc. from the University of Waterloo.

Erika McElroy-Education Advisor: Erika is in her third year as Counselor at La Entrada Middle School. Before working at La Entrada, she ran an after school arts program at a 4th-8th grade school in West Oakland. She received a B.A in Psychology from Penn State University, M.A and credential in Counseling Psychology from University of San Francisco. Currently, she is working on her M.A and credential in Educational Administration through San Francisco State University.

Sarah Moody- Education Advisor: Sarah Moody currently is a 7th grade counselor at Canyon Middle School in Castro Valley, Ca. She graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Psychology, and then obtained my M.A. in Counselor Education and P.P.S. Credential from San Jose State University in 2004. Her goal as a counselor is to help each student achieve self-direction, self-insight, and maximum development of his/her abilities, which will ultimately lead them to personal success!
